Volunteering

If you love prowling the aisles at Home Center/Hardware, enjoy fixing things, while supporting adequate housing, the ReStore/Home Center needs you. Sales, display, cleanup of donations, merchandising and all other "jobs" are completely volunteer efforts. With no paid staff, the ReStore/Home Center can use your help. Be part of LCHFH's premier recycler of new and gently used furniture, working appliances, bath fixtures, lights, tile, doors and windows. Call (810) 220-9986 ext. 6, or just dress down and drop by the store, to get involved. The ReStore/Home Center is always looking for volunteers to work in the store. Also needed are volunteers with extensive knowledge in plumbing, electrical, heating/venting, etc. that would be willing to teach staff and perhaps conduct monthly workshops. Volunteers clean donations, set up displays, help customers . . . and anything else that needs doing!

While the Habitat ReStore/Home Center sells many of the products other retail construction and home improvement stores sell, it varies in other aspects like its product selection, variability, etc.  Some of the activities we would like our volunteers to assist in may include, but are not limited to:

• Inspecting Donations
  
• maintenance of the store
  
• organization of merchandise
  
• receiving (unloading and loading donated materials and merchandise)
  
• Pick up donations
  
• data entry
  
• repair and cleaning of appliances
  
• promotions (distribution, mailings, etc.)

Send the ReStore/Home Center an email  and let us know how you would like to help. All applicants must be 18 years old or older and complete an application and computer based safety training before starting at the ReStore/Home Center.
